Whole foods, as good as their hype?

Whole foods, as good as their hype?

Many people think that whole foods are less fattening and are much healthier. It is true? We split.

First, what is a whole food?
It is that for the preparation of which have been used whole grains, unrefined. Because this will bring basically more dietary fiber.
But has more fiber intake does not mean fewer calories. In final, fattening a whole food like other refined.

Okay, I understood: whole foods equally fattening. But ... they are healthier? Not always.
Generally, the more fiber palatability worse (worst mouthfeel) to compensate so that manufacturers include more fats.

A clear example, you can see in the supermarket, they are the cookies. Any cookie. Grab a pack of regular cookies and other integrals. You will see that both have more or less the same calories but integrals (always touted as healthier) provide more fat and, above all, more saturated fats.
Provide more fiber itself ... but at what price !!

Conclusion: If we want to have a good intake of fiber, let's do it based on fruit, vegetables, legumes and cereals.

Would you have found interesting? Do you have questions? You just have to ask !!
