Lactose intolerance - How to Avoid Your Symptoms

Milk is one of the most complete foods and commonly used in diets, it contains a sugar called lactose, which a lot of people are unable to swallow. Lactose intolerance occurs when the small intestine is unable to digest lactose, because it does not produce the required amount of lactase enzyme, which is responsible for the body to metabolize lactose.
Premature babies are those who tend to suffer from lactose intolerance, also this type of problem is very common in people over 20 years. While this is not dangerous, it causes some symptoms, which begin 25 minutes to 2 hours after consuming any food or drink that contains lactose, among these symptoms are: abdominal pain. Diarrhea. Colic. Flatulence. Sickness.
How to treat lactose intolerance?
To address the problem of lactose intolerance, it is very important to eliminate the use of dairy foods and eliminate symptoms. Instead you can consume some alternative products that do not cause any consequence, these include: cheeses. Butter milk. fermented dairy products. Goat milk. Ice cream.
You can also lactose-free dairy products such as soy milk, rice milk or lactose-free milk cow. Because the people who stop drinking milk because they are lactose intolerant have a significant reduction in calcium, vitamin D and protein, it is necessary to include some nutritious diet and foods rich in calcium.
Some vegetables and foods like soybeans, sardines, broccoli, shrimp (prawns) and salmon, contain a lot of calcium and vitamin D. Another good option is to take natural orange juice.
Currently there is no treatment to prevent lactose intolerance, since it is not possible to increase the production of lactase in the body. For this reason it is necessary to avoid the consumption of whole milk and its derivatives, trying to eat instead, lactose-free products or soy milk.
