4 recipes for nourishing infants compotes

Fruit compotes are ideal for the baby because they are rich in essential nutrients and provide unique benefits for development. We found four delicious recipes to make at home.

If you were a parent and your baby is already a few months it is quite likely that you have already noticed one thing: depending on the pediatrician the beginning of the solid and complementary feeding begin sooner or later. Likewise it also depends whether or not taking toddler's milk.

For example, if the baby is not taking milk and only feeds of formula (also known as complementary), the most common is to start eating the first fruits from the fourth month of age, whereas if continues breastfed usually is to delay the start until six months.

Compotes for babies: 4 nutritious recipes

And you know what are the first fruits of the baby? The most advisable are those that are easy to digest, easy to assimilate, have a soft, sweet flavor and also have a low risk of causing allergies or intolerances. In this group we can mention mainly pear, a very complete fruit rich in amino acids and polyunsaturated fatty acids; apple, rich in fiber, water, vitamins and minerals; and bananas, rich in carbohydrates and easily digested.

When you start entering fruits it is best to start offering the baby a single fruit porridge, continuing for 3 or 4 days to see if any intolerance or allergy occurs and to find out if the baby likes. After these days we can add a different fruit, and back to do the same: wait 3 or 4 days. For example, if we start with banana, then try the pear and then with the apple.
